Beavers

be-cs-posBeavers are the youngest section of the Scout Association and are open to boys and girls between the ages of 6 and 8.

Easily recognised by their distinctive turquoise sweatshirts, Beaver Scouts enjoy making friends, playing games, going on visits and helping others. They usually meet together once a week in a Beaver Colony.

Some Beaver Scout Colonies also organise Sleepovers. These are often the first time a young person spends a night away from home. They take place in suitable buildings, often Scout centres.

Beaver colonies exist throughout Weald District, with the following groups currently offering Beaver Scouting;

Brenchley and Matfield

Cranbrook

Goudhurst

Hawkhurst

Headcorn
Sissinghurst

Three new Beavers being invested into Headcorns Beaver Colony.

Headcorn Beavers now has 28 young members attending weekly during term time.

A few will move on to Cubs at Easter.

60 Beavers from Hawkhurst, Headcorn, Goudhurst and Brenchley & Matfield enjoyed a fun filled day of games, crafts and Scouting skills at Lordship Wood.

Bases iIncluding leaf printing, art, hiking, cooking, survival and field games.

I would like to thank all the Parents and Scout Leaders for giving up their time on this sunny Sunday and making the day so enjoyable for all the Beaver Scouts.

Kaleidoscope 2010

Over a thousand Beavers from across Kent attended Kaleidoscope in Snodland. The weekend event was full of activities for the younger section.

Beavers enjoyed activities like bouncy castles and inflatables. Meeting snakes. Astro dome. Football and table top football. Karting. Crafts. Plastic cross bows. Water rockets. Magic show and circus skills.

Beavers from across the Weald, enjoyed a weekend of adventure in Goudhurst.

The weekends theme was 'Health and Fitness'.

Beavers worked towards and gained several badges for all their effects.

Thank you to all the leaders and parents for giving up their time over the weekend.
